AUDITION/PLACEMENT PROCESS

Complete the registration form above. If you select Academy Singers, you will be contacted one to three weeks following your enrollment by a SAAVA team member to schedule your vocal placement audition. Students enrolling in Encore and Interlude do not need to audition.

PRACTICE POLICY

Students are expected to practice at home Monday-Thursday and attend ALL Friday rehearsals on campus. I reserve the right to terminate choir members if they fail to practice the required repertoire. This is merely to make space for students who are committed to contributing to their vocal growth.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

The high level of artistic excellence expected at SAAVA performances MANDATES regular attendance. Students are expected to arrive on time and attend all rehearsals, performances, and other events.

MAKE-UP REHEARSAL (ACADEMY SINGERS ONLY)

Students in Academy Singers who miss a rehearsal must attend a make-up rehearsal the following Friday at 2:30pm (or schedule another time with their director).

EXCESSIVE ABSENCES

After THREE absences, SAAVA staff will request a meeting with the singer and parent(s). The SAAVA director will request an individual vocal check with the singer to check on the singer’s musical preparation. At the discretion of SAAVA directors, the singer may be dismissed from the choir. Any singer who incurs two consecutive absences will also be asked to have a vocal check.

REFUND POLICY

Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Tuition is refundable according to the following: Withdrawal BEFORE September 15, 100% tuition refunded; Withdrawal between September 15 and BEFORE October 1, 50% tuition refunded; Withdrawal AFTER September 30, NO REFUND issued.

TUITION

Tuition payment is not required to enroll; however, it must be paid before the first day of rehearsal in August (and January if you choose to pay semesters separately). You may pay it now or later based on the following rates. You can choose to pay for ONE SEMESTER or ONE YEAR:

ONE SEMESTER

  • $200/semester for ONE singer
  • $400/semester for 2 or more singers

FULL YEAR (August to May)

  • $350/year for ONE singer
  • $700/year for 2 or more singers

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

  • Please contact Miss Ivy if you need to apply for a financial assistance scholarship to help cover some or all tuition.
